Maxay tahay soo jeedinta ay sida lama filaanka ah u aqbashay Xamaas si ay ula heshiiso Israa’iil?

Xamaas ayaa ku dhawaaqday inay ansixisay hindisaha Masar ee xabbad joojinta Qasa.

Bayaan ay soo saartay dhaq-dhaqaqa Xamaas ayaa lagu sheegay in madaxa xafiiska siyaasadda ee kooxda Ismaaciil Haniyeh uu khadka taleefoonka kula xiriiray Ra’iisul wasaaraha Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani iyo wasiirka sirdoonka Masar Cabbaas Kamel oo uu ku wargeliyay in ay oggolaadeen soo jeedintoodii ku saabsan heshiiska xabbad joojinta.

Maxay tahay soo jeedinta Masar iyo Qatar ee Xamaas ogolaatay?

Xamaas

Sida lagasoo xigtay mas’uuliyiinta Xamaas, soo jeedinta ayaa ka kooban saddex marxaladood, marxalad kastana ay tahay 42 maalmood.

Wajiga koowaad waxaa ka mid ah: Xabad joojin ku meel gaar ah oo laga sameeyo meelaha dadku ku badan yahay, in la joojiyo diyaaradaha sahanka muddo cayiman, lagana baxo meelaha qaar.

Marxaladda labaad waxaa ka mid ah in si joogto ah loogu dhawaaqo degenaansho gudaha Marinka Qasa ah, iyo in Israa’iil ay si buuxda uga baxdo Marinka Qasa.

Marxaladda saddexaad waxaa ka mid ah in si buuxda dib loogu soo celiyo barakacayaasha deegaannadooda kala duwan iyada oo aan la xaddidin ama shuruudo lagu xirin, waxaana tan ka mid ah xorriyadda dhaqdhaqaaqa dadka deggan Marinka Qasa.

Tani waxay ku soo beegantay iyadoo la siinayo gargaar, cunto, iyo in la sameeyo guryo ku meel gaar ah oo loogu talagalay dadka deegaanka ee guryahoodii waayay. Waxaa jiri doona dadaal weyn oo ay geysanayaan dhinaca Masar, Qatar, iyo hay’adaha Qaramada Midoobay si ay u dejiyaan qorshayaasha dib-u-dhiska dhamaystiran ee Marinka Qasa ee wajiga saddexaad.

Khaliil Al-Hayya, oo ah ku xigeenka madaxa dhaq-dhaqaaqa Xamaas ee Qasa, ayaa wareysi uu siiyay TV-ga Aljazeera Isniintii ku sheegay in Xarakadu ay Masar iyo Qatar, ku wareejisay ansixinta hindisaha la xiriira la haystayaasha. iyo feyl-isweydaarsiga maxaabiista, wejiga koowaad wuxuu markhaati ka noqon doonaa wada-xaajood aan toos ahayn oo ku saabsan furaha is-dhaafsiga maxaabiista iyada oo loo marayo dhexdhexaadinta Qatar iyo Masar.

Al-Xayaa waxa uu xaqiijiyey in Askari kasta oo ka tirsan Ciidanka Israa’iil lagu beddeli doono 50 Hablood oo Falastiiniyiin ah oo 30 ka mid ah ay yihiin Maxaabiis dumar ah oo lagu xukumay Xabsi daa’in, halka 20 ka mid ah ay yihiin Maxaabiista ugu da’da weyn Hablaha Falastiiniyiinta ah.

Hogaamiyaha Falastiin ee dhaq-dhaqaaqa Xamaas ayaa sidoo kale xaqiijiyay in dammaanadaha ay kooxdu heshay si loo fuliyo qodobada soo jeedintan ay yihiin dammaanad ay bixiyeen madaxweynaha Maraykanka Joe Biden, iyo dhexdhexaadiyayaasha Masar iyo Qatar sidoo kale.

Faahfaahinta wacitaanka Biden iyo Netanyahu

Israa’iil ayaa kordhisay duqeymaha ay ku hayso bariga magaalada Rafax ee bariga falastiin, waxayna ku daadisay waraaqo ay dadka deegaanka kaga codsanayso in ay isaga baxaan qaar ka mid ah deegaannada Rafax

Isniintii, ra’iisul wasaaraha Israa’iil Benjamin Netanyahu ayaa ogolaaday in dib loo furo isgoyska Kerem Abu Salem ee gelitaanka gargaarka bini’aadinimo, maalin kadib markii la xiray kadib markii ay Xamaas ay gantaalo ku weerartay.

Madaxweynaha Mareykanka Joe Biden ayaa ka codsaday, mar uu telefoonka kula xiriiray Ra’iisul Wasaare Benjamin Netanyahu, in Israa’iil ay dib u furto marinka Kerem Shalom ee gargaarku uu kasoo galo Qasa, taasoo ah dariiqa ugu muhiimsan ee gargaarka bini’aadantinimo lagu galo Marinka, iyadoo uu Netanyahu uu ogolaaday.

Biden ayaa sidoo kale u sheegay Netanyahu in xabbad joojin lala gaaro Xamaas ay tahay habka ugu wanaagsan ee lagu ilaalin karo nolosha “la haystayaasha Israa’iil” ee Qasa.

Washington ma ka joojin kartaa Israa’iil inay duulaan ku qaado Rafax?

Qoraalka sawirka,Saameynta ka dhalan karta duqeymaha Rafax

Washington ayaa xaqiijisay in aysan taageersanayn duullaanka dhulka ee Rafax iyada oo aan la helin qorshe isku dhafan oo lagu sugayo amniga dadka rayidka ah ee gabaad ka dhiganaya magaalada.

Ciidamada Israa’iil ayaa duqeymo dhanka cirka ah ka fuliyay degaano ku yaalla bariga magaalada Rafax, oo ku dhow xaafado la siiyay amarrada daadgureynta magaalooyinka Al-Mawasi iyo Khan Yuunis, sida ay sheegtay wakaaladda wararka ee Reuters oo soo xigatay TV-ga Al-Aqsa.

Dhanka kale, Masar ayaa uga digtay Israa’iil khatarta suurtagalka ah ee hawlgal millatari oo ay Israa’iil ka samaynayso magaalada Rafax ee koonfurta Marinka Qasa, iyadoo tallaabadan sii kordhaysa ay keenayso khataro bini’aadantinimo oo ba’an oo ku iman karta in ka badan hal milyan oo Falastiiniyiin ah oo ku nool halkaas.

Bayaan ay soo saartay wasaaradda arrimaha dibadda ee Masar ayey ugu baaqday Israa’iil inay isxakamayso oo ay ka fogaato xiisad kale oo ka dhacda wakhtigan aadka u xasaasiga ah ee lagu jiro wada xaajoodka xabad joojinta, isla markaana ay iska ilaaliso dhiigda shacabka reer Falastiin ee la kulmay dhibaato bini’aadantinimo oo aan hore loo arag iyo masiibo tan iyo markii uu bilowday dagaalka Marinka Qasa.

British lawmaker – and China critic – denied entry to Djibouti

Incident in Djibouti, home of Chinese military base, shows ‘tentacles’ of Beijing’s influence, Tim Loughton says.

British lawmaker – and China critic – denied entry to DjiboutiConservative MP Tim Loughton from the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China, speaks during a press conference in central London on March 25, 2024.

 Daniel Leal/AFP

British lawmaker Tim Loughton, who was deported from the small East African nation of Djibouti in April, has warned that the move serves as more proof of China’s global influence in targeting those like him who are vocal critics of Beijing’s policies.

Djibouti, located on the Red Sea across next to Ethiopia, is home to China’s first overseas military base, and is heavily indebted to China.

Authorities in Djibouti questioned Loughton, who was scheduled to meet with the British ambassador there for a debrief on his recent visit to neighbor Somaliland, for over seven hours on April 8 before he was told he would not be allowed entry.

“This is a further warning that China poses a serious threat not just to those within China’s borders, but those beyond it as well,” he told Radio Free Asia.

Loughton, a Conservative member of parliament and former children’s minister, was one of seven British parliamentarians sanctioned by Beijing in 2021 for criticizing human rights abuses in China — which Beijing referred to as spreading “lies and disinformation.”

He said the experience gave him more impetus to speak out against the human rights abuses suffered by Tibetans, Uyghurs and others in China.

“Certainly, it’s a further indication of just how far the tentacles of the Chinese Communist Party extend well beyond China around the world, and those of us who have been prepared to speak out are subject to the clutches of those tentacles, apparently even in countries as remote as Djibouti,” he told RFA Tibetan.

But the incident pales in significance to “the constant harassment, torture and violence” that many people inside China face, particularly Uyghurs, Tibetans and those from Hong Kong, where there has been a clampdown on freedom amid the imposition of a strict new national security law, Loughton said.

“We will continue to speak out in the British Parliament to highlight China’s abuses at home and overseas,” he said.

China critic

Loughton is a leading member of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China, an international cross-party group of lawmakers from over 18 democratic countries working towards a collective response to Chinese trade, security and human rights policies.

He is also co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Tibet, which has highlighted China’s record on human rights abuses, and in 2019, introduced the Reciprocal Access Bill in the House of Commons designed to bar entry to the UK for Chinese officials found to block freedom of travel to Tibet by British citizens.

Loughton, who traveled to Somaliland as part of a British parliamentary delegation, said the visit itself was successful but that China was a frequent subject of discussions because of its close ties with Djibouti.

About 2,000 Chinese troops are permanently stationed at the military base, which appears large enough to dock a Chinese aircraft carrier, he said.

China has invested heavily in the country and is also the biggest creditor to the highly indebted Djibouti government, Loughton said.

“So, basically, what China wants, Djibouti tends to jump, and that became very clear with what happened to me,” he added.

Loughton said he had all the necessary requirements for entry into Djibouti, but that when he presented his passport, he was questioned extensively and asked about his occupation.

“When I revealed that I was a British member of parliament, then things turned decidedly frosty,” he said. “I was planted in the naughty corner in the arrivals lounge. … I was then rather rudely put into a room which had doors locked behind me, and I was left there for several hours, not knowing exactly what was going on.”

Authorities eventually told Loughton that he was not allowed into the country and that he would be put on the first plane out.

Even the British ambassador’s deputy, dispatched to the airport to help him, couldn’t persuade authorities to change their minds.

“There was no reason for me not to be allowed to go into Djibouti,” Loughlin said.

“Clearly, some of the comments that the delegation had made expressing our concerns about the influence of China in the area had been picked up, and, clearly, those sanctioned British parliamentarians are on a blacklist,” he said.

World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day: How a vigilant volunteer helped thwart an emerging cholera outbreak

$
0
0

For volunteer Nimao Abdi Bade, ‘keeping humanity alive’ was about being there, being aware and taking swift action that helped contain a potentially catastrophic cholera outbreak.

The city of Tog Wajaale, perched on the Somaliland-Ethiopia border, serves as a crucial crossing point for people and goods, particularly those coming and going from the port of Berbera, located about 300 kilometers away on the Gulf of Aden.

It is also a place where an outbreak of any infectious disease could travel quickly — and far — because of the high levels of commerce and people passing through.

That’s one reason the swift action of a Red Crescent community health volunteer Nimao Abdi Bade was so critical during the first days of a cholera outbreak in January 2024.

Spotting a family with severe symptoms, Nimao recognized the signs and reported their case via a platform managed by the Somali Red Crescent Society (SRCS), which then triggered a swift official response from health authorities.

It turned to be the first reported case of acute watery diarrhoea (AWD) and cholera in Somaliland and it led to a combined and coordinated response that greatly reduced the impact of the outbreak.

A vigilant volunteer

Nimao’s vigilance didn’t stop at the first case. Tracing the family’s contacts, she uncovered more potential cases involving people who had recently crossed the border. This led to confirmation of several cholera cases and a Ministry of Health intervention.

Trained by SRCS to identify and report cases of acute watery diarrhoea (AWD) and cholera and inspired by her success, she urged others to report illnesses promptly.

“AWD/Cholera was new to us,” Nimao says. “But SRCS training equipped us to respond. I am so proud of myself and being a volunteer of SRCS.”

The outbreak prompted SRCS to deploy more volunteers for house-to-house visits and hygiene promotion.

Nimao’s commitment went beyond initial reporting. During her house-to-house visits, she identified five additional cross-border cases, promptly reporting them. These reports, verified by SRCS Community Health Officer Roda Mohamoud Mohamed, led to further investigations. The following day, six more suspected cases were reported and escalated to the Ministry of Health.

Empowered by her success, Nimao has become a champion for timely reporting and community-based surveillance. Her diligence exemplifies the vital role volunteers play in strengthening public health responses.

SRCS also responded by mobilizing volunteers in Wajaale, another town on the Ethiopian-Somaliland border, and the surrounding areas, as well as the nearby Marodijeh region. The focus shifted to house-to-house visits, hygiene promotion, and raising community awareness about AWD/Cholera risks and prevention.

Emerging gas producers like Angola and Mozambique are redefining their strategies and policies to attract long-term investments, expand gas infrastructure and harness untapped reserves. The panel will unpack plans for expanded gas field development across the continent and spotlight Africa’s current gas monetization strategies, LNG export opportunities and investment prospects across the gas value chain.

As a mature petroleum producer, Angola is seeking to harness its underutilized gas reserves to establish diversified, gas-based industries, aiming to retain 25% of its natural gas production in-country via value-added industries by 2030. The country recently completed its Falcão 2 Gas Project – delivering gas to the Soyo I combined-cycle power plant and increasing gas processing capacity to 125 million cubic feet per day. Last October, the New Gas Consortium kick-started onshore construction of infrastructure to enable the extraction, transportation and storage of gas resources from the Quiluma and Maboqueiro fields, representing the country’s first non-associated gas development.

As one of the fastest-growing LNG markets globally – having started LNG exports from its Coral Sul facility in November 2022 – Mozambique is seeking new investors to facilitate its gas market expansion. The country is home to two large-scale LNG developments in the Rovuma Basin – TotalEnergies’ Mozambique LNG and ExxonMobil’s Rovuma LNG facilities – set to cement its status as a major global LNG exporter, as the country’s gas export revenues are projected to reach $91.7 billion over the next decade. Last month, the Mozambican Government finalized agreements with China National Offshore Oil Corporation as part of its sixth licensing round for exploration of oil and gas reserves in five offshore blocks.

The objective of this MoU is to explore credit enhancement coverage for ICD’s Line of Finance facilities to eligible financial institutions across its member countries in Africa.

In furtherance of its efforts to advance climate-resilient infrastructure projects across Africa, the ICD and the Africa Finance Corporation (based in Nigeria) also signed an Addendum to an MoU they signed earlier to explore co-investment and financing opportunities in their common member countries especially in infrastructure development and climate resilience projects.

In a bid to provide additional support to private sector enterprises in Bangladesh, ICD also entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BD Finance Bangladesh Limited. This MoU aims to provide technical and advisory assistance to BD Finance to support its transition into a fully-fledged Islamic Financial Institution, and to explore potential investment opportunities in Bangladesh.

Additionally, both Parties agree to provide required technical assistance to this new Islamic Bank once established in the form of short-term liquidity management, capacity building and support in developing and diversifying its product offerings. In the second MOU, the ICD and the Ministry of Fnance committed to explore potential investment and financing opportunities in infrastructure, aviation, fisheries sectors and other sectors that are priority for the Government of Maldives. The Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC) (http://ICIEC.IsDB.org), the Shariah-based multilateral insurer and member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, successfully concluded the 2024 Annual Meetings, having signed thirteen significant agreements and MoUs totaling US$ 689 million. These commitments with fifteen member countries and business partners span a broad spectrum of operations and projects across various sectors, further reinforcing ICIEC’s dedication to sustainable economic development.

Under the theme “Cherishing our Past, Charting our Future: Originality, Solidarity, and Prosperity,” the meetings featured ICIEC’s active participation in the 2024 Private Sector Forum. This included the ICIEC’s High-Level Panel Discussion that highlighted the transformative role of Saudi investments in fostering economic growth across ICIEC Member States, in alignment with their national development agendas. The event brought together stakeholders from government, international organizations, financial institutions, and the tech industry to discuss strategies for navigating emerging geopolitical risks and exploring new investment opportunities.

Madaxweynaha Somaliland ee kursiga ku fadhiya mudo kordhinta Muuse Biixi Cabdi ayaa maanta warbaahinta la hadlay isaga oo daboolka ka qaaday in uu qabanaayo doorashadii mudada dheer dib u dhacday ee dalka galisay buuqa siyaasadeed.

Waxa uu sheegay in uu doorashada soo socota guulaysan doono, waxana uu ku booriyay in doorashada si hufan loo galo.

Muuse waxa uu maanta la shir yimid laba su’aalood oo cusub ta koowaad waxa uu dadka waydiiyay cida aan isaga iyo xisbigiisa ahayn ee dalka u soo halgantay ee Siyaad Barre dalka ka xoraysay, taasi oo ay xisbi walba ay ku jiraan rag u soo halgamay iyo kuwo aan u soo halgamin se ficilo kala gadisan xorayntii xiligaasi kaga qayb qaatay.

Su’aasha labaad ee umadda ka yaabisay waxa ay ahayd in isaga lugta la qabtay isaga oo aan sharaxin waxa uu uga jeedo, madaxweynahu uu ku fashilmay in uu umadda la hor yimaaddo 7 sanadood oo uu xafiiska fadhiyay in uu keeno wax uu qabtay oo uu ku faano.

Marka aynu u fiirsano hadalkii madaxweynaha ee maanta waxa uu ahaa mid cadho hadlaaya oo ku fashilmay hagista dalka iyo in uu soo bandhigo oo uu ku qanciyo ama ku soo jiito kii taageersanaa iyo kii ka soo hor jeedayba.

Isku soo wada duuboo madaxweynahu waxa uu diray laba fariimood oo iska soo hor jeeda oo kala ah in aan caadifad iyo hadalo xinif leh aan doorashada xiligeeda aan lala iman iyo isagii oo maanta shaqsi weerar iyo hadalo aan munaasib ahayn ku furay isaga oo ganay laba waran oo aan meeshaba ku eekayn oo ah yaa sheegan kara in uu soo halgamay iyo in lugta la qabtay arinkaasi oo looga fadhiyo sharaxaadeeda.

Tani waxa ay abuuri kartaa buuq siyaasadeed oo uu madaxweynuhu uu daboolka ka qaaday hadana jawaabteeda laga sugaayo xisbiyada mucaaridka
